The nationwide auditions of the Nigerian Idol season 5 currently on-going in select Nigerian cities have been successfully concluded in two of the five host centres, the ancient city of Benin and Port Harcourt.
The auditions were anchored by the three celebrity judges on the Nigerian Idol season 5, renowned Afrobeat sensation, Dede Mabiaku, Vocalist Yinka Davies and R’n’ B crooner, Dare ‘Art’ Alade.
At the two centres, thousands of youths with talents in music thronged the venues for the screening exercises which were designed multi-layered with a view to selecting the overall hundred most outstanding talents.
Speaking about the auditions, Dare ‘Art’ Alade, described it as impressive and a positive indicator of a thrilling season ahead.
The Benin and Port Harcourt centres have thrown up a lot of talents. It just shows how exciting this season is going to be. There is a lot of competition-new voices, new faces, I can’t wait to hear them blossom and go up the ranks I guess top 100 as we whittle down to the finalists later on as the weeks go bye.
Nigerian Idol is in its fifth season after a successful debut in 2010 won by Yeka Onka. In the following years which saw the emergence of Mercy Chinwo, Moses Adigwe and Zebili Evelyn (Evelle), it has grown in popularity and followership on the basis of the unique platforms it offers to young Nigerians with exceptional music talent. It is the only music TV reality show in Nigeria with a global appeal that currently cuts across 46 countries.
Nigerian Idol focuses on discovering Nigerian youths with talent in music and giving them a unique platform to take shots at stardom. The eventual winner goes home with N7.5 million cash reward, a brand new car, a recording deal worth N7.5 million and some high-end devices. Auditions are expected to continue with the FCT, Abuja playing host in the weekend of January 24 -25 at the Bolton White Hotel. Ibadan and Lagos are to follow in the following weeks. It would be recalled the Benin and Port Harcourt auditions have been concluded.
Nigerian Idol season five is sponsored by leading telecommunications operator, Etisalat, Dabur toothpaste and E-Commerce platform, Payporte and will feature such enthralling performances which were the hallmarks of past winners among whom are Yeka Onka, Mercy Chinwo, Moses Adigwe and Zibili Evelyn who goes by the stage name Evelle.

Nigeria’s fastest growing and most innovative telecommunications company, Etisalat has announced its headline sponsorship of the hit music reality show, Nigeria Idol.
Director, Brand & Experience, Etisalat Nigeria, Enitan Denloye, announced this at a media launch held in Ikoyi, Lagos on the 14th of January, 2015, to formally kick - off the fifth season of the reality show.
Denloye disclosed that the sponsorship of the competition for 5 consecutive years reflects the company’s commitment to Nigerian youths.

Multi-talented neo-soul singer, Yinka Davies will be returning as a judge for the new season of Nigerian Idol, alongside Multi-award winning R&B singer, Darey Art-Alade and Afro Beat legend, Dede Mabiaku. On-Air Personaltity, Ill-Rymz will also be joining the judging trio as the host of the season.
The media launch featured numerous fun-filled activities such as a mini-Press Idol Competition and announcement of the judges for the season, but the closing performance by Nigerian Idol Season 4 Winner, Evelle Zibili was the climax of the night. With her dramatic performance of her latest single, ‘I’m Naughty’ and her soulful rendition of other hit songs, Evelle held the guests spell-bound with her tremendous running notes and energetic stage presence.

Nigerian Idol has grown steadily in popularity, especially among the youth, since inception. The winner of this year’s competition will cart away a brand new SUV and a 7.5 million naira cash prize, amongst other rewards.

There is popular scripture that admonishes parents to teach their children the will of God so that when they grow up, the word will not depart from them, other also says they should teach their children so he or she will give them rest. However, opposite is the case for the parent of young and pretty dark-complexioned actress, Bukola Awoyemi, aka Arugba.

Award-winning Bukola, who hails from Kwara State, Eruku, to be precise, is a graduate of performing arts from University of Ilorin. And she became popular for the role she played in Tunde Kelani’s Mainframe production movie, “Arugba” where she played the role of a young girls who as a virgin volunteered to bear the Osun goddess calabash and for that role she won the Upcoming Actress of the Year award in 2012.

Her beauty also attract so many people to her and in a very short while she started building her fan base which begin rising owning to the fact that she’s not linked to any form of scandal until her decision to conceive for Damola Olatunji, an already married actor tarnished all her glowing attribute. The news now is that Bukola has just delivered twins for Damola a couple of days back.

The two had met on location of movie titled “Odale” which means betrayal a word that can best described what the two of them happens to be, and it was during this period that the two began their unholy alliance the result of which is the newly delivered boy and girl twin. Damola whose wife, is said to be based in the UK. Those in the know claim that at the inception of the immoral relationship Damola’s wife Raliat was informed of the budding relationship between Bukola Awoyemi and her husband but she dismissed it after her husband told her nothing was happening between them she however got the shocker of her life when she came home sometime for their anniversary and all her personal effects has been moved to the guest room.

It is to note that Bukola has shown her greed and betrayal immediately after she shot into limelight with Arugba when she decided to walk out of the relationship she had with one Gbenga Ajayi. Sources close to her revealed she was engaged to the Gbenga Ajayi, a medical doctor who had gone a long way to help her and her family financially before she shot to limelight, the new found fame we gathered had spurred her to callously inform a very shocked Gbenga that he’s now beneath her in the society and that she will be calling it quit with the relationship that is more than seven years at that time.

Sources revealed that her family and that of Damola have had a low-key introduction ceremony before she was delivered of the boy and girl twin on 3rd of January this year in far away United State of America. The way things will play out with the news of the latest addition to the Olatunji family, not forgetting he may be facing bigamy charges from the wife who is still legally married to him as there has been nothing on divorce between them.
