New Kid On The Bloc, Jarmeu (Adisa Jamiu) Hits Entertainment Scene With Ileke

The Nigerian entertainment industry is one of the versatile sectors of the economy which keeps growing in leaps and bounds. Never has there ever seem to be a dearth of talent particularly on the music scene.
Industry watchers have their work cut out for them as Jarmeu, a promising talent from Ilorin Kwara state comes on board.
Right now, his name might not ring a bell just like it has always been with previous debutants now super stars like Wizkid, Phyno and others.
After an unexpected gap, Adisa Odunade Jamiu popularly called Jarmeu has returned to the Nigerian entertainment industry.
  He went off the radar, after his 2013 radio hit “E no Easy”. Today, Jarmeu, has returned with a highlife filled afro-pop tune "ILEKE". With his recent exploits, it is crystal clear that JARMEU is a name to watch out for in 2015. It was gathered that the handsome and talented young man, developed passion for music as a teenager while growing up in Ilorin. With a renewed vow to the creed of delivering quality materials, Dee-R-S Tunes, Jarmeu's record label is set to release a Video directed by ace conceptualist AJE Filmworks next week. The nationwide auditions of the Nigerian Idol season 5 currently on-going in select Nigerian cities have been successfully concluded in two of the five host centres, the ancient city of Benin and Port Harcourt.
The auditions were anchored by the three celebrity judges on the Nigerian Idol season 5, renowned Afrobeat sensation, Dede Mabiaku, Vocalist Yinka Davies and R’n’ B crooner, Dare ‘Art’ Alade.
At the two centres, thousands of youths with talents in music thronged the venues for the screening exercises which were designed multi-layered with a view to selecting the overall hundred most outstanding talents.
Speaking about the auditions, Dare ‘Art’ Alade, described it as impressive and a positive indicator of a thrilling season ahead.
The Benin and Port Harcourt centres have thrown up a lot of talents. It just shows how exciting this season is going to be. There is a lot of competition-new voices, new faces, I can’t wait to hear them blossom and go up the ranks I guess top 100 as we whittle down to the finalists later on as the weeks go bye.
Nigerian Idol is in its fifth season after a successful debut in 2010 won by Yeka Onka. In the following years which saw the emergence of Mercy Chinwo, Moses Adigwe and Zebili Evelyn (Evelle), it has grown in popularity and followership on the basis of the unique platforms it offers to young Nigerians with exceptional music talent. It is the only music TV reality show in Nigeria with a global appeal that currently cuts across 46 countries.
Nigerian Idol focuses on discovering Nigerian youths with talent in music and giving them a unique platform to take shots at stardom. The eventual winner goes home with N7.5 million cash reward, a brand new car, a recording deal worth N7.5 million and some high-end devices. Auditions are expected to continue with the FCT, Abuja playing host in the weekend of January 24 -25 at the Bolton White Hotel. Ibadan and Lagos are to follow in the following weeks. It would be recalled the Benin and Port Harcourt auditions have been concluded.
Nigerian Idol season five is sponsored by leading telecommunications operator, Etisalat, Dabur toothpaste and E-Commerce platform, Payporte and will feature such enthralling performances which were the hallmarks of past winners among whom are Yeka Onka, Mercy Chinwo, Moses Adigwe and Zibili Evelyn who goes by the stage name Evelle.

Director, Brand & Experience, Etisalat Nigeria, Enitan Denloye, announced this at a media launch held in Ikoyi, Lagos on the 14th of January, 2015, to formally kick - off the fifth season of the reality show.
Denloye disclosed that the sponsorship of the competition for 5 consecutive years reflects the company’s commitment to Nigerian youths.

Multi-talented neo-soul singer, Yinka Davies will be returning as a judge for the new season of Nigerian Idol, alongside Multi-award winning R&B singer, Darey Art-Alade and Afro Beat legend, Dede Mabiaku. On-Air Personaltity, Ill-Rymz will also be joining the judging trio as the host of the season.
The media launch featured numerous fun-filled activities such as a mini-Press Idol Competition and announcement of the judges for the season, but the closing performance by Nigerian Idol Season 4 Winner, Evelle Zibili was the climax of the night. With her dramatic performance of her latest single, ‘I’m Naughty’ and her soulful rendition of other hit songs, Evelle held the guests spell-bound with her tremendous running notes and energetic stage presence.

Nigerian Idol has grown steadily in popularity, especially among the youth, since inception. The winner of this year’s competition will cart away a brand new SUV and a 7.5 million naira cash prize, amongst other rewards.
